Conspiracy! Bush loves Usama

Many people and organizations have tried linking Usama and Bush together, looking back at the time when Bush was heading oil companies sponsored by the Usama family or when Bush senior helped the talibans to get the russians out of Afghanistan, and so on.

But it’s only until today that we’ve got proof of their friendship! Recent research indicates to close connections between them. A major investigation made by yours truely can now expose them as FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK!

Stay tuned as we continue our reseurch trying to find out if they are Top Friends!

Facebook application coming!

We wanted to make Rebtel more viral and Facebook less wired, so the developers here have started building an application that will connect the offline life to the online Facebook life.

Having cool apps on your FB account can make you start playing Super Mario again, take stupid tests, draw out your where-about and many things more. These are all fun in the moment of being online. You feel like you’re coming a bit closer to your friends simply by clicking on your computer.

I, myself, often crave to go offline seeking contact in the more traditional way, taking a beer or calling somebody on the phone. The fact that many of my friends are too far away for drinking with makes me call them more, now that I can without paying so much. The people I’ve met on FB are also in many cases abroad and therefore I feel like taking these contacts even closer even though distance is in the way.

I hope that many people will try the new app as soon as it’s done, so that we can get in contact with these!

Advertising stupidity

The relevance of online ads is something that has been discussed around the Facebook application forms in recent weeks. With the launch of Facebook flyers it’s now very easy to place “targeted” content towards certain campuses via FB – but is this actually making ads any more relevant?

I would say no – I think that the ads should be relevant to the viewer as well as the content (or profile page) they’re displayed next to. In any case – FB has a lot of data on me (as a viewer), on the profile/page I’m viewing as well as on my click habits – so USE this data!

But I guess this isn’t really unique – I get special offers for tampons every week even though I’m a single guy living by myself…

Some more opinions on this at GigaOM and from Robert Scoble. The original study of flyer click-through rate gave an abysmal 0,04%. All very good reads on this – so now the question is – how tobe visible on Facebook?

Challengers are on Rebel Challenge

Two weekdays has gone by in the Challenge and 15 challengers have already signed up, gotten their tools and started. Linus and Björn are still in the lead, but that’s how it should be, since we have time on our side. The summer’s cooking and many new challengers will join and start kicking ass by the weekend. We look forward to seeing them challenge the currents.

Rebel Challenge is the shit!

Last night, right about midnight, we launched the Challenge. All the preparation is done and over, now we go into Challenge mood and work with the challegers to make this fun and a success!

Many have joined and we will see to that these together with the ones coming will get the results updated as often as possible on the ranking page.

Another video has also been edited and put on youtube. I’ll put it here under…

The time has come! The CHALLENGE is HERE!

So, now we’re finally going to launch the CHALLENGE.

Now you can take the step into being a part of creating Rebtel in the future.

Those who’ll manage the challenge will be invited to our community with the managers of Rebtel and their networks (+100 minutes of free calling!) – to succeed you’ll need to sign-up 45 users to Rebtel.

How to join? Go to http://www.rebtel.com/challenge/ and register! (If you haven’t signed up to Rebtel, you have to start by doing that and then go in to the Challenge)

Good luck!
Linus & Björn

Rebel Challenge getting closer

What’s the Rebel Challenge?

Your mission: to persuade 45 people to join Rebtel and make a call.

What do you get out of this?

By taking part in the Rebel Challenge, you’ll develop a close international network of entrepreneurs, CEOs and tech gurus. You’ll gain
access to new technology, become a part of Rebtel, create value for your network and, last but not least, earn free international calling.

When does this start?

We are going to invite you this week!

Learn more

· Networking: The Rebtel network will deliver what LinkedIn and other serious social networks can’t – close contact between high-performing students and the people who’ll affect their future: people who can hire, recommend, sponsor and mentor them.

· Tech: By being a part of this community you’ll gain access to the newest tech developments, including sneak previews of the latest developments in mobile telephony, handsets and the future of the mobile web.

· Rebtel: Rebtel is keen to work with students because these same students are the ones who’ll be driving things a few years from now. Rather than simply hiring interns to chat meaningless drivel at job fairs, they want to involve young people in the very core of the company, helping shape Rebtel’s development and direction in years to come.

· Added value for your network: As a Rebel Challenge Winner you’ll be able to give network members extra features and deals, however you see fit.

· Free international calling: And, of course, the better you do, the more you’ll get from Rebtel and that includes free international calling from your cellphone!

Many thanksRebel Challenge

A big shout goes out to the developers, who’ve been working like crazy to set up a platform for the winners – a platform where the winners of the Rebel Challenge will be able to interact with top entrepreneurs, CEOs, and technology gurus in a fun, closed environment.
